I am the type of person if I like something I will use and re-use it. I tend to carry the same handbag for a whole month. So as we approach the end of the month, I thought I should share some of my favorite items for the month of May.
For those who know me well know that I always have a big bag full of all my essentials. In case of need, I am the girl my friends will ask for tissue, hand lotion, chewing gum and even pain killers to say a few.
This Long Champ bag is one of my favorites bags mostly because of its simplicity and durability. It is also the perfect size as it fits all my essentials. I got this particular one two years ago at Johannesburg International Airport . The story is, the bag that I was carrying one of the handles snapped (probably from all the stuff I carry in my bag). This was a great opportunity for me to get a new bag, so I went for the Long Champ, which is one of my favourite brands.
I love to be comfortable and I have been wearing these sandals most of the month. They are white therefore easier to match with pretty match any attire, (smart casual of course). I got them from Mr. Price at Mlimani City Mall, last December and for some strange reasons didn’t wear them much until this month.
Over the years I have built my collection of different jewelry pieces, which I love. This May my favorite pieces are a colorful beaded neckpiece by KPG Statements, a Topaz silver ring and the Grovana watch.
Like most women I carry a make up bag in my handbag. My favourites this month have been my Bareminerals Foundation, Maybelinne Smoky Eyeliner, Borghese Primer, Dior Mascara, Body Shop Lip Butter, and I have been obsessing over the Iman Cosmetic Lipstick ‘Opal’. I love this shade. It’s a dark brown with a hint of burgundy. It’s one of those statement shades. I also always carry the small purse perfumes and Jungle by Kenzo was my choice for this month.
One of the things I love most and don’t get to much these days is reading. I love to read about all subject matters as long as it’s of interest to me. This month I am reading ‘Memoirs of An Arabian Princess from Zanzibar’ by Emily Ruete. This is an autobiography by Emily Ruete who was born Sayyida Salme, Princess of Oman and Zanzibar. This fascinating autobiography gives insights of the life she had as a Princess in Zanzibar before falling in love with a German businessman who she later elopes with and exiles to Europe. I love Zanzibar and its rich history and vibrant culture, and this book transports me to an era of wonders and Sultanates.
Finally I always carry a small pocket size notebook with a pen and some colours pencils, because I love to doodle and sketch when I have time in between work and errands.
