It’s been a year now since I started the blog. It’s been an adventure of ups and downs- self doubt and reassurance. I started to blog a year ago, because I love writing and telling stories. I see myself as storyteller and mostly as a creative being.

I have to be honest, it hasn’t been easy. I struggled with juggling blogging , working full time, being a mummy to my two children and a wife to my loving husband. However as the months went on, I found ways to balance things and my life. With all that said , the blog give me relief, it relaxes me and makes me feel that I am doing something worthwhile.

Mint and Tea started with a chat with my amazing friend Jonelle du Pont of www.tyrannyofpink.com and www.jonelledupont.com.  At the time I was thinking about starting a blog but I was unsure of myself and Jonelle said ‘just start’ keep it simple and  take one post at time. She’s a great writer, inspiring and empowering women through her blogs. She’s also a fantastic mother to her son Oden.

There are also Tanzanian bloggers who have and still inspire me everyday. Shamim Mwasha of www.8020fashionblog.com is the first Fashion Blogger in Tanzania. She started out 10 years ago bringing the world’s fashion scene to Tanzania and continues to do so till today. Other blogs that have inspired me and I follow closely are  www.bintiesque.com, www.karolynklaire.com,  and www.lehautestyle.com these three a young women sharing their life experiences and love for fashion, food, art, beauty and much more. If you love finding hidden places where you can eat, or unique places to shop and places to travel, then you must follow those three blogs.

A big thank you to my brother Shalua of www.dunamailabs.com for giving me the best ideas and taking the best shots and mostly for pushing me everyday to grow my brand.

It’s been a good first year for Mint and Tea. I have lots of plans and ideas for the blog and I cannot wait to share them with you all. Thank you to those of you who comment of my posts and to those of you who write me emails saying that you love reading my blog and that it inspires you. I hope you continue to read and I hope I continue to inspire you.

Thank you to all of you, I love you and God bless.
